prosody and melody is a group of songwriting friends (and friends of friends.) the basic idea for the group was stolen from hearing paul baribeau mention it at a show he was playing. quickly, a core group of friends from southwest florida took to the idea and started asking people from around the country that they knew. people started writing and voila! prosody and melody!

the basic idea is this: in alphabetical order, someone chooses a topic to write about. everyone in the group then has two weeks to write and record a song based around that topic. at the end of the two weeks, all songs are submitted and posted. the members talk about what they did, why they did it, problems they had, how they recorded, what they thought of the other members' songs, etc. then the next member gives the next theme. i'm sure you see a pattern.

we hope you enjoy some of the stuff we've been writing! and we all encourage you start a group just like this with people you know. thanks for checking it out!
